Magpie x Hornsea

Hornsea Potteries were established in 1949. Drawing influences from a wide array of sources, they soon grew to be the world's largest studio potteries, employing over 700 people. They developed unique and groundbreaking techniques and designs many of which were influenced by the founders' textile background. Hornsea is a remarkable British design story involving some of the icons of British pattern and ceramic design. Sadly, they closed their factory for the last time in 2000, but Hornsea remains a much loved and influential brand, with a timeless appeal.

Magpie design and manufacture multi-award winning gifts and homewares. Their products are stocked in small independents and department stores around the globe. Their vegan ethics ensure all their products are cruelty free and use no animal products in their manufacturing. The small Magpie team really cares about bringing well designed affordable wares to the market.

The two companies have come together to produce a range of bright, bold pieces that draw from Hornsea's heritage, all manufactured in hand moulded & hand glazed stoneware.
